Deloitte Interview Experience | Set 2

Recently, I had the opportunity to interview for the Software Engineer role at Deloitte, which was an exciting experience. The interview process included several stages, each with its own unique set of challenges and evaluations. Here's a detailed account of my experience:

  • Registration: The first step was the registration process, where I submitted my personal details and academic information. This step was essential for starting the application and getting noticed by the recruiters.
  • Shortlisting: After the registration, my resume was shortlisted for the next stage, based on the skills and experiences highlighted in it. The resume was key in catching the attention of the recruiters, as they looked for relevant internships, projects, and technical skills.
  • Online Assessment: Following the shortlisting, I was invited to participate in an online assessment. This consisted of coding problems, logical reasoning, and basic aptitude tests. The coding problems were designed to assess problem-solving abilities in real-time, and I found them to be quite engaging.
  • Technical Interview: After successfully completing the online assessment, I moved on to the technical interview. The interviewer started by asking me about myself, focusing on the skills and experiences listed on my resume. I explained the internships I had undertaken and how they contributed to my growth as a software engineer.
    1. I was asked detailed questions related to the projects I had worked on, particularly one where I had written a complex piece of code. The interviewer shared a notepad with me, where I was asked to write a code snippet related to my project, which tested both my technical abilities and understanding of the project.
    1. I was also asked about the certifications listed on my resume. The interviewer was curious to know if these certifications were part of my academic curriculum or if I pursued them independently. I explained how I took initiative to acquire these skills on my own.
  • HR Interview: The HR interview was focused more on behavioral questions. I was asked how I would handle a situation where I failed to complete a task assigned by my team lead. I emphasized the importance of communication, where I would immediately inform my team lead about the delays and work together to come up with a solution.
  • Another question that stood out was about handling a situation where a client gives extra requirements in a project. I shared that I would first ensure that I fully understand the additional requirements and then communicate effectively with the client about the feasibility, deadlines, and adjustments required to accommodate the changes.
  • Result Declaration: Finally, after completing the interviews, I received the result, and it was an exciting moment when I was selected for the role.

This experience gave me valuable insights into the interview process at Deloitte, which is highly focused on both technical skills and problem-solving abilities, as well as on the ability to handle real-world scenarios in team and client interactions.
