With a focus on innovation and enterprise solutions, Infosys has grown to become one of the largest IT services firms in India, second only to TCS by revenue. The company’s market capitalization reached $34.38 billion in 2017. Infosys continues to drive technological transformation for clients worldwide, fostering business growth and enhancing lives with its comprehensive solutions.

Infosys Recruitment Process Overview

Infosys typically follows a 3-round recruitment process to hire freshers for various technical roles:

  1. Online Test
  2. Technical Interview
  3. HR Interview

Round 1: Online Test

The Infosys online test assesses a candidate’s logical and analytical abilities across three sections:

  1. Quantitative Ability: Questions on basic mathematics, number systems, probability, and other quantitative concepts.
  2. Reasoning: Puzzles, logical reasoning questions, and pattern recognition.
  3. Verbal Ability: English proficiency, including reading comprehension, grammar, and sentence correction.

The online test is 95 minutes long, with a specific time allocated to each section. Once you start a section, you must complete it before moving to the next. The questions can be attempted in any order within a given section, but you cannot switch between sections.

Round 2: Technical Interview

Candidates who clear the online test are called for the Technical Interview. The focus of this round is to evaluate your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. You should be well-versed in the following areas:

  • Data Structures and Algorithms: Be prepared to discuss and write code on data structures like arrays, linked lists, stacks, and queues, as well as algorithms for sorting and searching.
  • Database Management Systems (DBMS): Understand concepts like normalization, joins, and database design.
  • Operating Systems: Be prepared for questions on memory management, process scheduling, and basic OS concepts.
  • Networking: Have a basic understanding of networking concepts such as protocols, IP addressing, and routing.
  • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP): Concepts such as inheritance, polymorphism, and encapsulation are often tested.

You may also be asked to solve coding problems in real-time. Candidates from non-CS branches are encouraged to review the core subjects of their respective fields to be well-prepared for questions in the interview.

Round 3: HR Interview

The final step in the recruitment process is the HR interview, which focuses on evaluating your personality, communication skills, and cultural fit within Infosys. Common HR questions include:

  • Tell me about yourself.
  • What are your career goals?
  • Why do you want to join Infosys?
  • What do you know about Infosys and our services?
  • How do you handle stress or tight deadlines?

The interviewer will also likely ask questions about your resume and may discuss your aspirations, strengths, and areas of improvement. Confidence and clarity in communication will be key to succeeding in this round.

Interview Experiences from Past Candidates

Here are some example questions that candidates have encountered in past Infosys interviews:

  • Combination Sum: Given a set of numbers, find all combinations that sum up to a target value.
  • Reverse an Array: Write a program to reverse an array without using any additional memory.
  • Binary Search: Solve a problem using binary search to find the position of an element in a sorted array.
  • Stack Overflow: Questions on how to handle or prevent stack overflow in programming.
